The Bollers came to America in 1816. First settling in Mifflin County, Pennsylvania, then to Wayne County. Ohio, and finally Elkhart County, Indiana. But now, with the second generation, the Boller family moves even further westward as the great American expansion continues with Jacob B. and Catharine (Smucker) Boller making their way to Iowa -settling on farmland in Johnson County in 1853!

1825-1853 – The Mennonite Connection.

1850’s – Surveying This New Land Called Iowa.

February 28, 1825 – Jacob B. Boller is born to George F. & Elizabeth (Zook) Boller in East Union Township of Wayne County, Ohio. (2), (3)

July 2, 1825Catharine Smucker is born inAlsace-Lorraine, France.

November 18, 1899 – A big golden (50th) wedding anniversary for my gg grandparents – Jacob and Catharine Boller – is held in Kalona, Iowa.
