My mother took me to Chicago in 1934 to visit her sister’s family. What I remember is eating on the train, seeing the fair sky ride, digging holes in the sand at a Lake Michigan beach, and the Marshall Field Department Store, where an artist did a pastel portrait. For some reason, although it was still running, we did not actually attend the fair.
Wonderful memories Dave.
