Hayden Fry – 1979-1998, 238 games coached at Iowa, 143-89-6 record, .608 winning percentage, Three Big Ten Conference championships, Fourteen Bowl Appearances including Three Rose Bowls with a 6-7-1 Bowl Record, inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2003.

February 28, 1929 – Legendary Iowa Football Coach – Hayden Fry – is born in Eastland, Texas.

From 1889 to today – over 130+ years – the University of Iowa has been playing football here in Iowa City.
