Boerner & Sons – Iowa City’s Prussian Poppa of Pharmacy.

January 27, 1983 – The Boerner-Fry Building – located at 332 E. Washington Street in Iowa City – is designated on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Boerner-Fry building was eventually purchased by Iowa City businessman Hayes Carson (1922), who converted it into the 46-room Washington Hotel. In 1952, it became known as the Davis Hotel (1952-1972).
