The February 12, 1951, photo of the fieldhouse interior was a surprise to me. Hanging outside the WSUI broadcast booth is a barely recognizable felt WSUI/KSUI banner my mother made about 1947 or ‘48. I cut out the gold (yellow) letters using previously used individual cardboard letters as a pattern, and she stitched them onto a large black background. We used this banner at all the football and basketball games I worked, but I was not involved in sports broadcasts when this photo was taken.
