Happy Birthday – Elizabeth Zook.

July 17, 1790Elizabeth Zook – my ggg grandmother – is born to John & Magdalena Zug – a German spelling of Zook/Zuck – in Chester County, Pennsylvania (in southeastern PA). Elizabeth was living in Mifflin County, Pennsylvania – located in central PA, halfway between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia – at the time of her marriage to George F. Boller in 1820.

Sadly, no pictures exist of George F. Boller and Elizabeth Zook. Yet, despite the absence of photographs, we do know that these two brave souls were pioneers in bringing the Boller family from Europe to America – with George arriving in October of 1816!

  2. I don’t think I’ve mentioned this before. When I was at KWWL, Waterloo, in the late ‘50s, we had a DJ by the name of Zook: “Look for Zook”. His first name may have been Richard.
