May 25, 1915 – Tipton farm boy – Judge Emlin McClain – dies at age 64. McClain served as Chancellor of the Department of Law at the State University of Iowa (1890-1901), was author of McClain’s Annotated Statutes of Iowa (1880), was a Justice on the Iowa Supreme Court (1901–1912).
