Did you know that in August 2021, the very first Field of Dreams Major League Baseball Game was played in Dyersville, Iowa?
Yup. W. P. Kensella wrote the story in 1978, Hollywood made it into a hit movie starring Kevin Costner and James Earl Jones in 1989. And on August 12, 2021, the world came to Iowa to see it – The Field of Dreams.

- Fox Sports’ Field of Dreams broadcast proved to be the most-watched regular-season MLB game in 16 years.
- 5.9 million baseball fans tuned into Thursday’s game between the New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox – with the White Sox narrowly beating the Yankees 9-8 with a late-inning – game-winning home run.
- ‘I think the reception that this event has received has been so positive that we will be back,’ Commissioner Rob Manfred said. A promise made good in 2022.
