Marty Boller was born in Mt. Pleasant with family roots tracing back to Washington Township of Johnson County, IA in 1853. Boller graduated from Iowa City High and the University of Iowa and had a 40+ year career in church work, planting and pastoring two churches: Iowa City (1987-1989) and Cedar Rapids (1997-2020). He lives in lowa City with his wife of over 50 years, Sandy Unrue Boller, serves on the boards of the Johnson County Historical Society (JCHS) and Friends of Historical Preservation (FHP), and is the head historian for the website dedicated to Iowa City & Johnson County history: OurIowaHeritage.com
