October 1895 – The first football game is played in the new Iowa Field – which is part of the SUI Athletic Park located west of Old Capitol, adjacent to the Iowa River.

Sadly, the Hawkeyes lose this one to Doane College (Nebraska) 10-0. The first win in Iowa Field won’t come until the following year: October 3, 1896 vs. Drake 32-0.
