According to the November 3rd edition of the Ames Daily Tribune-Times, the winner of the 1933 game will be awarded a Victory Bell – which had just resurfaced in time to become the new traveling trophy for the winner of the Iowa/Iowa State game.
For the record, the Hawkeyes won that game in Iowa City on Saturday, November 4, 1933 – 27-7. Today, that same Victory Bell has been rescued and is safely stored at Old Capitol in Iowa City!
