July 3, 1976 – After six years of restoration, Old Capitol was re-opened and re-dedicated as a museum.
A grand re-opening of Old Capitol was held on the front steps. Iowa graduate, Simon Estes, sang, and restoration supervisor Margaret Keyes poses with Susan Hancher.
