The Barnes-Crowley House – 614 N. Johnson Street.

May 29, 1846 – Iowa City pioneer Almon Barnes purchased property on North Johnson Street from the Territory of Iowa and built a simple one-story home constructed of native yellow-brown sandstone. Today, this home is one of only a handful of extant survivors from that era.
