Here’s Tom Walz (left) and Bill Sackter on tour in 1983. After the great success of the Bill Sackter story – as presented in the TV movie ‘Bill’ starring Mickey Rooney, Tom was invited to travel with Sackter on many speaking engagements, right up until the time of Bill’s death in June 1983.

February 10, 2018 – University of Iowa professor Thomas Walz dies in Iowa City. As Director of the School of Social Work (1973-1978), Walz was instrumental in the life of Iowa City’s “Wild Bill” Sackter.
