
In 1924, the 74-year-old newspaperman – John Springer – was invited to write up a story for the Old Settlers’ Association (OSA) of Johnson County. His assignment – since he had lived here since he was age 7 – was to recall some of his favorite Iowa City stories. A true reporter-at-heart, Springer gave OSA 18 pages of memories and here, on this post, we share those short stories with a few pics and other details along the way.
