Have A Blessed Thanksgiving.

From Norman Rockwell To Today.

Happy Thanksgiving!

This work (on the right) references Norman Rockwell’s famous 1943 painting of the same name: Freedom From Want. Rockwell’s painting was part of a series titled Four Freedoms, which was inspired by President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s 1941 State of the Union Address. Here, the artists have recreated Rockwell’s iconic scene, but instead of an all-white family we see a table comprised of people of different races. “If we want to hold onto this idea of a classic America, we also need to update it as our country changes, which means that 75 years from now our pictures will likely mean something different,” For Freedoms artist Hank Willis Thomas told TIME magazine in 2018.
