Hancher Auditorium – November 9-10-11, 1972. The Hancher Auditorium Grand Opening featuring Meredith Willson’s The Music Man.
When I was part of the Hawkeye Marching Band (1969-1972), Meredith made the trip to Iowa City to be a part of the gala opening of Hancher Auditorium. He guest conducted the band at the football game (November 11, 1972 vs. Michigan) and appeared with us on stage at the big finale of each of The Music Man performances at Hancher that weekend.
